The New Powerbeats 4 – TESTED & REVIEW

published on August 2, 2020

Just in case hey everyone welcome back to another review hope everyone is safe out there hope you guys are doing good my power beep pros are great I love them for the ear hooks the intuitiveness and at a time for truly wireless earphones the Better Life was amazing now if I

Want something that won't fall out while I'm working out I go again for the power B pros but let's say either one you don't want to spend $250 on the pros second you want something that hangs around your neck instead of taking off

Your pros and then putting it in your pocket or so some people don't like truly Riley's earphones for some reason and third you want even more battery life for convenience I believe the power of Beats might be the alternative now

These retail for 150 dollars I'll place my affiliate links down in that video description below click on those links for the most updated prices in real time beats did send these in for review however my assessment was not altered in

Any way I'll be of course going over both pros and cons I'm Jimmy with Jim's review and I'm here to help you guys make that purchase decision welcome everyone to another review

All right going over the physical features they're almost identical to the pros actually you're not getting cheaper physical feeling plastic here it's actually the same plastic and they same grippy rubber silicone like texture the

Ear hooks are identical as well with how they feel and almost how much tolerance you have with bending these and adjusting them to make sure they fit your ears now the only difference aside from the wire of course the power beats

Are bigger and a pro's it's very my note here if I didn't have them side by side I honestly couldn't tell but now you guys know knowing half the battle here now I personally prefer the smaller look but it's not a deal-breaker if not even

Close the black version and the power beats were also not fully black as well like the pros word is a little bit of gray around the ear hooks and such now on beats website is simply states that they are water and sweat resistant I

Contacted beats to double-check and they told me that they are IP 4 rated meaning that they can take on a splash of water from any direction it just can't be sprayed with water with a jet water that is and it can't be submerged either now

With my testing my power beats are still working fine today now getting a closer look the power button is on the left ear but the beats logo on the left earbud is actually not a button I'm the pro it's actually is the right ear but has the

Vine rocker controls which worked out perfectly fine here the beats logo can pause and play answer phone calls and activate your Google assistant or Siri in the directions I didn't see any indication of skipping or going back on

A song that would have been a huge con here in my book but it'll test us and we do get it – taps any logo to go forward and triple tap to go back on your music so how have the testing been in regards to use and practicality now the obvious

Pro are the ear hooks when you first put them on they might be a little tight or near a little bit snug clamping your ears a little too much there but the ear hooks are bendable and you have to just shape it to yours a bit here but after

Doing so for me at least they are very very comfortable now they were identical in feel with the truly wireless power beat pros for either running working out laying flat on the bench doing bent over rows these earphones do not fall out at

Our same thing with the pros if you want to secure hold ear hooks I in general here are the way to go now within coded wire some don't mind some do one of the pros is you can actually take off one earphone and not think about it

Dropping or storing it as well taking off both sides and having it basically dangle around your neck it is convenient now the rubberized silicone texture works great at keeping the earphones on your neck but while wearing I do notice

It tends to pull to the right a little beard put the wire pulls to my right shoulder like so especially when I'm working out a little bit of a nuisance but sometimes that's typical for over the neck wire earphones like this

Especially the ones with the microphone that is on one side thankfully this doesn't have them the bigger issue you have to look out for is is their wind noise while you're running that's heard through the wire and second is their

Wire chatter heard when the wire is bouncing on your neck or rubbing against your shirt like so that was notorious and he beats X a few years ago and it was such a huge distraction now for Wired earphones these did great during

My runs just like most other in-ear earphones most of the windows is actually heard hitting the earbuds themselves while the wire barely carried any noise into my ears same with rubbing simply turning my head like so I barely

Hear the wire dragging along my shirt here and while I'm running I barely hear the bounce of the wire as well I'm kind of shocked they didn't include a clip to clip it to your shirt but honestly through my experience I

Didn't hear that rattle or that bouncing in general so there's a total of four ear tips included they all felt perfectly comfortable as they sat on the outside of your ear canal instead of being

Squeezed into the ear canal there's an okay seal going around the ear but because of that you're not achieving the most noise isolating earphones on a market that's just the way that beats designed these now if you're vigorously

Working out I also noticed that clenching your teeth like so ah you know high intensity movement the earphones do slightly lift a bit from time to time and you can really hear your outside environment and then your music your

Audio might not sound as direct in your ears as well in addition the passive noise isolation and these are considered on the lower end some may be perfectly fine with that with that kind of experience

For example the non Pro Apple earpods sold like crazy so i can assume there's a market for that but honestly I personally prefer amazing noise isolation with the option of audio pass-through now with

The power of beaten poverty pros the biggest letdown for me is the lack of true audio pass-through where the microphones are built-in that my front turns on and lets in your environmental noises as though you're not wearing

Earphones at all we don't get that feature here now the other feature I noticed missing was Auto pause four times you take off your earphones it just doesn't stop your music and then Auto resumes once you put it back on

Second missing feature or a technically third hear these don't how to turn off as well even if you leave them sitting around idle I've noticed that they just stay on and drain your battery remember to turn them off and the last thing here

No active noise-cancelling but again these are not designed to be super isolating earphones so if a and so you kind of defeat the purpose here so moving on we have accident levels of Bluetooth performance actually not sure

Why Apple does this but they don't indicate what Bluetooth version they have but does classify these as class 1 indicating the range and these things should be excellent now most earphones are considered as

Class 2 offers ranges up to 30 linear feet although more than 50% of my earphones that I personally test on the channel here usually can achieve 40 to 60 linear feet with the class once they're climbing up to 300 feet so with

My first test around the house here I'm able to achieve 99% coverage leaving my phone on one side over here and walking to the other side of my apartment roughly and again just for reference 1,100 square feet and I was so close to

What I can actually put my head on the wall that's how far their signal went going through several walls now with a straight line of sight I was able to achieve about 80 linear feet with my pixel for Excel that's a rough estimate

But the video shows where the signal remains stable for me and I with the iPhone 10 that I have here I achieved about 95 linear feet worth of distance so nowhere close to 300 feet but this might be just enough for you guys now as

Per video I tested this on YouTube and Netflix on both my iPhone 10 and also the pixel for Excel and the audio played with notes synching delays are probably thankfully to those apps by testing this real quick on Call of Duty mobile I'm

Getting delays unfortunately there now this also has multi pairing from my testing I've connected to two phones then all I need to do is tap the power beets in the bluetooth menu and these signal literally just jumps over no need

To disconnect and rig a better life is claimed to be a high 15 hours per use I test this at 50% bomb in the same playlist that I use on all my audio tests and I achieved 18 hours in 16 minutes the ads were charging or fast

Charging that is five minutes we'll give you back an hour worth of playback now all right folks let's get into the audio side of things but first up let me do this microphone test I can't go outside now or at least I'd rather not take my

Chances at the moment but I'll play some background music some noise here to give you guys a sample of how these sound here we go all right folks here goes the microphone test so I have some background music or background audio

Going on at the moment hear the siren possibly through the microphone right now having switched over to these just yet I have a microphone microwave going on in the background over there and also my faucet let's fill got my picture so

That'd be real quick so let's switch over to the microphones right now and there you go folks here was the microphone unedited for you guys these do not sound better at all it's actually isolating my voice and trying to

Suppress or alleviate a lot of the background noise for you guys let me know down in the comment section below what you guys think and welcome back for this video oh I am over in my studio

Sorry have it your gun hey folks welcome back here if you watch this far you should check out my personal social media accounts on Twitter or Instagram follow me there and the links on your screen there or I'll place them down in

That better description as well I post my personal thoughts stuff I'm working on and stuff I'm interested in other than headphones and earphones all the time but anyways hope to see you guys there so let's get into the audio test

Here now first up the power B pros of these wired power beats sound practically identical from bass to volume to sound imaging etc but if you're not familiar with the pros oh the pros and the power beats will be loud

Enough for most people this does slightly vary between 50 to 60% in vibe for casual listening and there's times I need to pump it to about 70 to 80% volume to have at any jamming level again that seal around your ears is

Going to be very important now there is minor sound leaking occurring if you're in a very quiet area someone's sitting right next to you might hear faintly what you're listening to so just be aware of that as well

No beats are known for bassy audio and it's been refined over the years there's been set new products with Apple being part of the picture and I can see the improvements prior to that it was I'll

Be us gonna sketchy there but anyways base has the ability to hit deep base levels but on most songs it's not that rumbling experience like what you can get with headphones it's not a bad thing but you're still getting a very good

Amount of bass but the important part here though it's kept clean to me it's kept distortion-free any power beats won't get muddy suppress or droning which is usually a poor indication of bass being offered if

You're familiar with the drummer 75 tees truly wireless earphones review these have a very similar characteristic if you like bass in your music or if you're using these to watching netflix movies on your phone they sound really really

Good in my opinion now as mentioned earlier I didn't experience any muddiness if anything the mid-range frequencies that's where the human ear interprets most vocal work and instruments it's clear with a good

Amount of audio separation stereo imaging I'm able to identify left and right audio channels independently you can hear snaps happening off to the side too vocal work being more centered and have to be forefront as well now things

To critique and this is honestly just me nitpicking here but there could be additional resolution in detail in the music these could also use an increase in soundstage as well but most earphones lack that these days now music listening

Genre is a pop hip-hop at EDM which I listen to works out great but for podcasts for some reason voices especially female voices sound to be a little bit high on the upper mid-range for some reason that won't deter you

From purchasing this but that's again made nitpicking and the quality or the experience in this case for the high frequencies in my interpretation a very neutral experience nothing ear-piercing nothing tinging know listening fatigue

Here it's not rolled off at an extreme level but with everything going on I'm okay with a neutral level here I think if there was more it might be a little too much considering everything everything else all the other audio

Frequencies that have been going on a very alive and in-your-face kind of audio experience but overall the power bit earphones shines at having great bass and these stereo imaging is done really really well the other features

Offered are simple its intuitive and it is useful the better life alone is insane and I know these don't have the most high-tech features but the features that are offered I think are done really well and at

Hundred dollars less than the power beat pros I think what is missing might be justified folks let me know down in that comment section below what you guys think and don't forget to Like and subscribe as well to help support my

Work here you guys take care and I'll see you guys on the next one bye
