Super Cute Christmas Doughnuts! | Cupcake Jemma

hello and welcome back to the crumbs enjoy these Christmas kitchen where things are really christmasing up and today's recipe is going to be for some super duper cute Christmas animal Donuts

And these are gonna be baked Donuts similar to a recipe that I did before were a little bit more Christmassy of course and not miniature so I'm going to be using one of these so this is a nonstick baked donut pan the recipe is

Really really simple I'm gonna start by pushing at my butter and my sugar into a big bowl and beating it until it's nice and pale and fluffy it's looking pretty good so now I'm gonna add two large eggs one at a time I'm gonna beat really well

After each one okey-dokey now it's time to add some dry ingredients so I've got some plain flour here and then I've also got some Christmasy spices in the form of

Cinnamon ginger and nutmeg and I also have some salt some bicarbonate of soda and some baking powder just to give these guys a proper lift and then just mix that until it's really

Well combined and last but not least I've got some buttermilk here so just whack that in and then mix it really well right now you just want to put your

Mixture into a piping bag it's a nice big one to fit it all because you've got 12 doughnuts worth going in and you just want to cut the end off so I'm gonna be making my hole about just like maybe half an inch to 3/4 of an inch wide

And I'm gonna pipe my donut batter into this tin and this is a very nonstick tin so I've actually found that because it's quite new as well I haven't really needed to grease it but if you have a slightly older one that's a bit more

Worn than by all means grease it lightly and when you pipe it in because it's quite stiff this this batter is difficult to tell sometimes how much you're putting in but it'll roughly look as if it's about three-quarters full

all right so these are all failed now so I'm gonna bake these at 170 degrees C for nine or ten minutes and it's absolutely fine to leave the rest of your batter in the piping bag while they

Bake and your tin cools down nothing much will really happen to it and then when this lot comes out you can flip them out and refill I'm back and my doughnuts are out of the tins and they've cooled down and they're looking

Really really lovely and poofy and round and perfect but they're not looking very Christmas animal II currently so I'm gonna start by applying a base layer half white half brown and I've actually got milk chocolate which is melted with

A little bit of cocoa butter just in the microwave and also some white chocolate which I've added some super white powder to make it even whiter and so that it's better for our Christmas animals whatever they may be

so now but all my Donuts covered in chocolate I'm gonna let them set for a little bit you can do that either by whacking them in the fridge for a couple of minutes or just leaving that at room

Temperature it'll happen eventually then we're gonna get exciting welcome back now you might have noticed a sort of multiplied and also completely changed there is another person with me everyone drama say and that person is

And a little bit of edible paint to create amazing Christmas animals we're going to be doing a polar bear a christmas robin a reindeer obviously very very wintery animals so we have a variety of different colors of sugar

Paste here and they have some of them have got a bit of gum tragacanth in them to turn them into modeling paste so that we could do things like ears and antlers and stuff so they drive it firmer and we've got various tools I'll write a
