Six ways to make browsing on Android better

by birtanpublished on November 27, 2020

You probably don't know me or maybe you do but my name is Facundo louis meister and i am here to begin making tech videos on Andruw police's YouTube channel so let's started off with some great ways to improve your browsing experience on Android with Google Chrome first off I want to show off some applications that work great with Google Chrome that will improve the way you click on a link within the application installed on your phone such as Instagram whatsapp Google Messenger and much more Cromer is a great way to open up your links because it seems as if the application supports a custom internal

Browser it does this by forcing all applications to use chrome custom tabs even if the developers haven't implemented it into the code it's sort of like a lightweight version of Chrome that only opens websites letting you open links faster all of your history passwords and bookmarks are synced and it will seem as if you have never left the previous application you were using in other words when you tap on a link within an application you select Cromer and it opens up as a chrome custom tab and not with the Google Chrome application press the back button and

You will be able to go back to the application you were using instantly just recently chrome dev not Chrome or Chrome Beta but chrome dev received a new feature to open any link in a chrome custom tab which could potentially kill Cromer now it's still a little buggy and crashes quite a bit especially when you tap on the chrome button to open the link in your Chrome browser but you can still try to use chrome dev if you don't want to download chrome err and hopefully in the future when this feature becomes more stable we will see it in chrome beta and then Google Chrome

An alternative to Cromer is an application called Flinx this will open your links in the background with the little bubble while you continue using the application you were in it's sort of like floating chat heads and facebook Messenger when you receive a message you can open as many links as you want personally I opened 200 links to test it out and it worked out smoothly plus you got some nifty features such as double be linked safer later and an easy read mode to read an article without any ads or links just pictures and text similar applications include link bubble which

Started all and flipper link but personally I would just use flanks as it is more fluid and has more features such as saving a link for offline reading and an easy read mode with text customization so those are great and all but what about modifications within Google Chrome well let's start it off with the tabs if you don't like having google chrome tabs being within your recently used applications when you click the recent button you have the option of reverting back to a tab switcher within Google Chrome which basically unmerge is your tabs just open

Up Google Chrome click settings then you click on merge tabs and apps and you switch the toggle to the off position that's basically it now you have all the tabs you open within google chrome and on top of that you get a cool swipe to switch tabs feature when you swipe on the address bar from right to left or left to right basically making it faster to switch between your tabs now let's say you're reading through an article and you don't understand what a specific word means you can just long press on the text and it will be highlighted tap on the three dots and you have the

Option of translating it looking it up or opening that highlighted word with a third-party application if you don't want to leave the website you can enable a feature called touch to search through the settings you tap on privacy then you tap on touch to search and you have to turn on that feature after it's enabled you can highlight any text and a bar at the bottom of the website will appear just swipe that up and it will look up the word on Google without having to open up a new tab or browser how convenient is that next a cool little trick for those who

Are too lazy to lift up their fingers from the screen in Google Chrome you can open the menu by holding down on the three dots and sliding down your finger over the option you would like to select you can also hold down on the top of the address bar and swipe down and if you have the tab switcher enabled within Google Chrome it will allow you to see all your open tabs with the swipe of a finger so that's something small yet very useful and you can think be later the last way you can improve the way you browse is by enabling reader mode within Google

Chrome's experiment page essentially it allows you to read an article on a website without having any ads or links just text and images now there are third-party applications that allow you to do this with even better features but if it's an option within Google Chrome I'd rather just use that instead it doesn't really get in the way either it just pops up as a bar on the bottom of the website stating make page mobile-friendly and you can view the article you're reading without any intrusive ads it's also great if the website doesn't support your mobile

Layout to enable this feature just open Chrome colon slash slash Flags in the address bar then look for an option called reader mode triggering and you can have the option of having it always appear in whatever website you open up or you can let Google decide if they think the website is an article you can also experiment with the other options they have on this website just be a little cautious as these are experiments that Google Chrome is still testing out and just make sure you know what you're doing those are some great features applications and modifications to have a

Better experience when browsing through a browser like Google Chrome for Android if we happen to miss a great unknown feature that you use all the time let us know in the comments section below thank you guys for tuning in and we will see you guys in the next one peace
