close your eyes and imagine upon

performers

blonde platinum blonde hair thereupon

their systole big boobs huge implants

they're straight or we see them doing a

lot of street scene slew eyes tiny

little waist yeah youngish like a Barbie

doll look a lot of times like they'll

call it girl next door and I clearly

don't look that way the standards of

what makes a woman beautiful is very

much based on what white heterosexual

men may think is pretty to say that porn

is all one thing doesn't even scratch

the surface of what's possible you know

to paraphrase Chyna Lewis Houston

filmmaker says trying to find diverse

examples of porn on the internet it's

kind of like trying to stargaze during

the day right the only thing you see is

the Sun in today's context that would be

porn home for a lot of people and

looking at tube sites and they're not

seeing much more than a pretty cookie

cutter example of what sex looks like

who's having it and I'm not gonna say

that what you see there is wrong because

I don't think it is there is a

visibility issue just type porn into

Google like the first thing you see

isn't all of this diversity but it's

there we're out today anyone with a

smartphone in their pocket can be a

pronoun refer and can be a porn star

anyone with a laptop can be a cam star

this is great because it gives the tools

to be able to democratize sex you also

find so much diversity in sort of the

the long tail of catering to nice

fetishes and the cam models and the

people who make custom videos for people

like that's that's where it starts to

get really varied there's so many

different types of bodies and there's

more people in porn now in general not

that long ago there were probably like

50 porn stars and now there's thousands

and thousands huge boobs small boobs

wide set narrow set kind of flat real

Lake

super perky really how do they do that

without engineering learn is not

one-size-fits-all sex is not

one-size-fits-all

[Music]

there is a very stark difference in the

way that like white female performers

get fetishized even just like looking

online and looking on pornhub and seeing

how like black women are marketed versus

how white women are marketed a white

female performers like sexy little teen

princess gets like the best dick of your

life and then like for like a black

woman it's just like ghetto ass hoe gets

pounded back like it's just like

really and it's just like okay why is it

necessary that in order for me to be

sexualized that I have to be either

brutalized or like be put in a position

where I am very clearly subservient why

is it that I have to be marketed and

like more of a demeaning way in order

for it to be sexy while I got really

lucky I think it ends up being a

disadvantage to be a woman of color and

porn

it's definitely predominantly a white

industry most of the really successful

porn stars are white the fact that like

black performers don't even have control

over how they're how their image is

marketed like we don't even have the say

in it which is pretty messed up like if

we're you know we're using our bodies

and we're you know we're doing labor

with our bodies like the least we can

have is control over like how our images

use I'll never take a role that's like

making fun of Asian culture or like if

they want me to speak in an Asian accent

in a way that like they're making fun of

me

that doesn't feel sexy to me and if I

don't feel sexy doing it like I don't

want to do it I think different

companies cater to different audiences

but I think what's frustrating is that

there kind of is this thing where like

all companies think that this very

specific thing is the standard and it

doesn't have to be the standard
