Note 8 Dual Camera vs iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode

by birtanpublished on September 26, 2020

This video is brought to you by up C the best way to ensure your new Galaxy Note 8 what's up everybody this is Danny the Galaxy Note 8 now joins a list of flagships that have dual cameras this is a first for Samsung so I know a lot of you are probably curious how it works

Let me show you the camera software on the note 8 including the new live focus mode and let's compare it to the dual camera setup on the iPhone 7 plus the main camera is 12 megapixels with F 1.7 aperture while the second telephoto lens

Is also 12 megapixel with F 2.4 aperture but the standout feature here is that both cameras have optical image stabilization so that is a world's first on a mobile device the main sensor does but the telephoto lens does not have

Dual pixel autofocus when you fire the camera software up you will notice there is a 2 X button for the telephoto lens this is identical to the setup that is on the iPhone 7 plus to get that insane depth of field look you hit the light

Focus button and that punches into the 2 X zoom but if you hit the second button on the left side that is called dual capture where you can actually use both lenses at the same time and then choose between the telephoto shot or the

Wide-angle shot after you take the picture you can also control the level of the blur effect that you want which you cannot do on the iPhone at all there is also a full view that you can go into that crops to fit the entire infinity

Display and while it's not super sharp on the screen this is very immersive and it's a nice inclusion light focus is very similar to portrait mode on the iPhone when it's within a distance of 4 feet or so you will see that it is

Available and then you just take the shot then you can review the picture hit adjust background blur and then just use the slider to get the result that you want same here on the iPhone 7 plus you tap

In a portrait mode and as long as you have the proper distance it will initiate the differences on the iPhone that you'll see a live preview of the blur effect but there are no controls after the fact the results are very

Similar on both sides they both do a great job with blurring out the background but with the note 8 the shots do look a little bit sharper I also noticed that the minimum distance is shorter on the note 8 to activate

Live focus mode than iPhones portrait mode this does open up some more possibilities with these type of shots you can tell by the end result here that they note 8 was able to achieve the same shot from a farther distance and the

Edge detection seems to be a little bit sharper as well and a little bit better implemented I can't make a firm decision on this yet until I do some further testing and evaluate the full resolution images so subscribe for a full camera

Comparison when the new iPhones drop that should be an awesome showdown I didn't notice anything else different on the note 8s camera software settings from the Galaxy S a +4 18 and 1/2 by 9 photos are available at seven point nine

Megapixels sixteen by nine at nine point one megapixels and if you want the full 12 megapixel resolution you'll need to shoot in four by three aspect ratio video is also the same you have 1080 P you have 1080p 60 frames per second and

The highest quality is Ultra HD or 4k and the 8 megapixel front-facing camera is the same as well with the ability to shoot q HD video at 1440p I hope you enjoyed this quick look at the note 8 camera and the life focus mode do we

Have a new dual camera King here could this be better than the iPhones portrait mode I guess we'll see when the new iPhones are released let me know what you guys think in the comment section below
