No widgets, no folders, no homescreens – meet ASAP Launcher
Just recently I came across a new launcher called ASAP the developer of this app claims that it lets you do what you want faster without the clutter let's see if that's actually true when first launching ASAP you'll come across a quick guide on all the nifty features and cool things you can do once you're done you'll arrive on the home screen which looks very similar to action launcher 3 now I've been using this on trip for a couple days now and I'm very satisfied with the overall design animations are great it's very easy to use when you get the hang of it and I do very much enjoy how stable and
Smooth everything has been so far when compared to other launchers a snap leaves our common features such as widgets multiple home screens folders and even icons on the home screen besides the dock instead the launcher focuses on gesture controls to navigate throughout the entire UI anyways the first thing you'll gaze upon is your wallpaper along with a dock of five apps and a card near the top showing the date/time whether a Google Voice search icon and an overflow button to access Google search each tap settings and system settings if you decide to play
Music with Spotify phonograph or any other music player a widget will show up right below the only card on your home screen allowing you to pause fast-forward or rewind the current song you're listening to plus the color of the widget changes based on the accent colors from the album cover is very pretty tap on the hamburger menu or swipe from the left edge of the home page and a vertical list of all your apps will appear personally I'd rather have a bundled view than a long list of apps but it doesn't seem like there's any way
To change this to navigate the drawer you can use the letters to quickly jump around or there's also a search engine swiping from the right edge of the screen a list of system shortcuts will slide out allowing you to customize and toggle settings such as Wi-Fi brightness flashlight and more I probably won't use this feature since I'm already accustomed to the quick settings in my notification drop-down but I can see how this could be useful swiping from the middle of the homescreen will reveal cards for your contacts including frequent recent or starred contacts a
Calendar for all of your upcoming events a button for adding events a five-day forecast from open weather map and a to-do list to manage your tasks you create press home or back to return to the center and you can rearrange these cards or toggle them off from the settings back on the home screen if you slide the deck upward two rows of your most used apps will appear you can even pin them down so they don't accidentally get removed I enjoy this feature because my home screen doesn't get cluttered with icons
Making it look cleaner and simpler when I actually need to use my frequent apps they're always there secretly hidden it swipe away if we take a look at the settings you have different themes that can apply such as wallpaper which changes the colors throughout the entire launcher based on the main color of your current wallpaper you can also customize the icon pack screen orientation and much more so is this launcher clutter free letting me do what I want faster in some ways yes the card for example made it easier and quicker to check the weather forecast and to access my
Frequently used contacts for a quick call but since I'm very dependent on widgets and folders for quick navigation I found not having them to be a major drawback so it comes down to this if you're someone who likes a minimalistic and simple launcher that tries to put your most commonly used apps functions and information front and center ASAP is for you if you're someone who likes to use widgets folders and tons of customizable options it's not going to be for you if you'd like to try out ASAP for yourself I'll leave a link right below that like button it's a free
