HP Spectre x360 13″ with Full HD IPS Display Review (Late 2019 Gem Cut)

by birtanpublished on December 5, 2020

This is Lisa from mobile tech review and this is the HP spectre x360 13-inch Jem cot for late 2019 with Intel tenth generation CPUs again we relieve the oled version a couple of weeks ago so this is the full HD for those who are wondering how that screen is certainly it's less expensive and it has not so many of you know old lens foibles and we have the no bling version in silver stayed silver before we continue I'd like to thank linkit security on their IP bunny camera the sponsor of this video the camera features motion tracking SD card storage 1080p video recording cloud storage and a Wi-Fi

Connection use the link in the description to save 10% and get a free SD card now back to our review so this is the Intel tenth generation quad core version with Intel iris plus graphics for a little extra graphics bump 16 gigs of ram is a maximum solder on board with this or is an m2 nvme SSD variety of capacities starting at 256 all the way up to 2 terabytes we have Wi-Fi 6 onboard a backlit keyboard at Microsoft precision trackpad and a very nice keyboard in terms of tactile feel and travel I'm not gonna go into depth for these things because like I said we just

Reviewed the 4k version of this a couple of weeks ago link in the description so you can learn in detail about this machine so it's different here is well first off for those who find the Poseidon blue or the nightfall black which is HP's usual brownish black matte finish a little too blingy are a little too finger print adoring well the silver is kind of well stately in comparison and also doesn't show fingerprints very much you still have the gem cut design and a bit more shine and reflection on the sides but really it's it's pretty chill looking

And really very nice looking and CNC aluminum rigid body all those things you expect of a Spectre x-360 your 360 degree hinges and the HP active pen which is entering technology which is not the greatest for artists due to line jitter and tracking but for note takers it's perfectly good and you do get the pen in the box so our full HD model is attractive because we're talking a pretty small screen here first off in terms of resolution if you want to save yourself a couple box well thirteen point three inches and full HD is certainly good enough in

Terms of sharpness particularly because the OLED model has if you're reading which is where you might notice text sharpness we're getting to photo and video editing but when you're reading OLED whites are sometimes a little strange so I'm actually prefer reading text on a white background on an IPS display so easier on the eyes even if you're not having the same hyper clarity that you would with the 4k display obviously this one is IPS and that means no OLED burnin to worry about the gamut on this is typical of your $1000 Ultrabook and by the way right now this

Is a really good deal the model that we have with core i7 eight gigs of ram a 512 gig intel octane SSD and the full HD display is going for 1050 on HP's website anyway you get what you would expect for $1,000 and up kind of laptop display here which is full srgb coverage and about three-quarters of Adobe RGB a little better in this case HP claims it's a 400 nits display only that close you know 356 and it's good but in terms of color gamut it still looks really very nice nobody's going to complain about this it's not the oh my god look of Oland but it's still very nice

Despite now if you are a very serious photo or video editor you might want the higher resolution when you're using Photoshop or Premiere that's so anything you'll get more detail you won't have to zoom so much and get the idea so there's certainly an appeal to the higher resolution this point but don't feel like you're slumming unless you really aren't doing some very serious photo and video editing work by getting this full HD display I really couldn't see the digitizer grid that pattern that you see almost like a screen door as much on this so as you do on the OLED model

There's thing about all in where it's a little easier to see the digitizer as though the OLED mount we had really wasn't that bad that respect not seeing a lot of Moray either here so all in all it's a competent despite its glossy it's got plenty of reflections you know that's HP they have reduced reflectance they've been working on that so it's not as bad as some previous generations in that respect and nothing worse than the competition in terms of battery life that's the other bonus for not going with OLN or with a higher resolution display yes OLED displays unless they're

Displaying black because they actually turned their pixels off well they'll use more power when displaying light colors or white so so indeed I'm seeing two to three hours better battery life with this full HD model that's some of the core i7 inside and a pretty decent capacity 512 gig SSD so yeah about 10 hours without trying hard brightness set to 200 nits and doing productivity work a little streaming video and they usually kind of use case it's not really you know going to town trying to play games on or something like that where obviously your

Battery life will be shorter even Photoshop isn't too too hard on battery life depending on what you're doing so if you're looking for the longest running Spector clearly the full HD model would be your choice at least for mobile tech review be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more cool tech videos and hit that notification now
