Honor 8X Review – The $200 Smartphone Beast???

by birtanpublished on September 22, 2020

What's going on guys and welcome back to another episode and today we have a very interesting one we have the honor 8×8 10 a very budget-friendly phone with not so budget-friendly specs this guy is $200 which compared to say the iPhone 10 you got that joke there it is five times

Six times seven times the price depending on which model you get we're just kind of crazy to see how much value you can get in a smart phone and just like I promised in yesterday's video I am giving away this very 8 X just be

Sure to sub to the channel and of course leave your comment down below on your favorite $200 feature of the 8x and I will ship that out and announce the winner in one of my next episodes so good luck

So for $200 what exactly are you getting in usually at that price point you are getting the scraps the bottom of the barrel in terms of components not so much this time we've got a 6.5 inch 23 40 by 1080 panel and if you actually

Compare that to say my iPhone 10's max they actually have a very similar form factor and over on the honor 8x we actually have a 91% screen to body ratio which actually beats out the galaxy note 9 we of course have the tiny little

Bezel at the front and a slightly smaller chin then say the 10s max and at first glance it's very impressive and perhaps if you were a smartphone newbie and kind of looked at both you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference

And maybe under close inspection I get it maybe the screen isn't as razor sharp as other quad HD panels but you just always have to remember what kind of money you're spending $200 maybe let's make a tally of how many times I say

That this episode around the rest of the device there are improvements from last year 7x we now have gloss on both sides of course the nice aluminium edge the fingerprint sensor on the back which I definitely miss and on the bottom is

Something where I think most of you will scratch a couple heads we have a microUSB port I think is a bit antiquated we're going to bit backwards we're living a bit in the Stone Age I really have to dig up

Some of my older micro USB cables just to charge this guy but I guess that's just one of the things you have to sacrifice when you're paying $200 let's add that to the tally it's not USB see I think they need to get there next year

I'm sure that can't cost too much extra money the one speaker grill which is just you know okay once again $200 and on the back you may think that it is a dual camera it definitely looks like one we have a 20 megapixel main sensor but

The other is just a 2 megapixel depth sensor and in terms of performance as long as there's enough light as long as you have a well-lit area just like this this guy takes some pretty decent shots it is an AI base camera so depending on

What scene you're in whether you're taking say pictures of yummy food landscape scenery but just don't expect this guy to be the best camera out there not even close as you say that one plus six and especially when we start getting

Into say lower light situations that's where this guy tends to struggle a bit and your images will get a bit more grainy but it does take some half-decent selfies I'll let you guys be the judge down below so internally powering this

Guy we have the current 710 chipset and although that isn't the latest it is paired with four gigs of RAM it is smooth I wouldn't say as quick as other flagships and of course you're just remembering you're paying $200 here

People for what you're getting this guy still performs great navigating through the UI playing some basic games the things that most of us do on a smartphone and unless you have two devices say side-by-side you're not

Really noticing too big of a difference and the only thing I would say is of course emui skin over top just like Huawei phones I find it a bit clunky especially when you compare that to say how much TouchWiz has improved over the

Past couple years I would definitely stick a stock launcher like Nova launcher just to keep things a bit more stuck a bit more basic Android stock ish maybe the only big change out of the box that I would make to this guy right away

And I guess technically in this day and age four gigs of RAM does seem a bit low there are some sacrifices that you do have to pay it doesn't have say wireless charging depending on what market earring it might not have NFC so you

Can't use tap to pay and I get it most people I can already see the top comment that micro USB is still a thing but hey for 200 bucks it still has the good old headphone jack that is something that my $1500 iPhone 10s max just doesn't have

Enter ended up it is really awesome to see brands like honor Huawei polka phone introducing smartphones that are just more appealing to the masses to emerging markets and just making them more budget-friendly for more people and yeah

I'm honestly curious to hear your thoughts what you guys think down below in the comments of the 8x hope you guys enjoyed this quick review and remember this one is heading to one of you lucky peeps so just be sure to sub to the

Channel and I will catch you in one of my next episodes or in one of my vlogs base
