GOOGLE PIXEL 5 – HORRIBLE design CONFIRMED!? Real life photo!

Is this it does this leak confirm my Google pixel 5 prototype design what tech news in a way that doesn't hit the subscribe button and turn on notifications if you're sitting on the toilet right now hello hi welcome back from bade stack of course the show that gives you all the latest tech news from one geek that is me to another that is you it is Wednesday it is hump day which means free hump day all you gotta do is go follow me on Twitter for your free hump look it's in my bio so it must be real in fact more than free humps I'm actually gonna give away a pair of ear pods Pro if you go over there and follow

Me there but I think the humps are better all right first up for the day's story numero uno a lot of Google News in today's episode we'll start with this Google i/o you know only their biggest event of the year is canceled it's cuz up to beer flew the beer flu strikes again Google has officially cancelled IO 2020 this is a massive event for them this is the equivalent to like WWDC from Apple this is Google's developer conference and I mean has this ever been cancelled before at least since you know we started from page tech years ago this is the first time I've ever had to

Report on it being canceled this year it was scheduled to take place on March 12th through the 14th in a statement they said due to concerns around the beer flue and in accordance with health guidance from the CDC WHO and other health authorities we have decided to cancel the physical Google i/o event at Shoreline Amphitheatre now if you're gonna take anything away from this take that line right there oh a physical Google i/o event meaning that most likely will still have it it'll just be streamed now if you're one of the attendees that already purchased tickets

For the event don't worry they said you'll be fully refunded by March 13th and you'll also automatically be given the option to buy a Google i/o 2021 ticket now as you probably already know especially if you watch the show regularly they've been cancelling tech companies have been canceling events like all over the place the last couple months and it's for the best I mean I've seen some people argue that like we shouldn't we shouldn't do this and like given to fear or like if you go out in public you have the chance of getting the beer flu

Anyway so why canceled events but that's not how it works well I mean for number one right brands don't want to have that sort of responsibility they don't want to have headlines everywhere that people left their event with the beer flu and it's because of them and it happened at their event but number two and more importantly these events are nowhere near the same thing and not comparable at all – like just strolling out to your local grocery store and having a risk of getting the beer flu there you gotta remember that the point of these events is to be able to give one location a

Single location for a bunch of people to arrive at for press event people from all across the US people from all across the world coming to one central location so number one you've got people from all over the place going to one spot and then those people leave and go back to where they live so if they go back to where they live with the thing that somebody else from someplace else brought into the event then it spreads that's how it spreads we're not just talking about how like someone in a nursing home in Seattle got it and so it's spread with other people in the

Nursing home people going to one central location like this and then flying back or traveling back to wherever they originally live whether it's a different state or a different country that's how with scale a disease like this or a virus like this just floods taking a risk of contracting this thing from one location and then spreading it out to many countries many states yeah that is too high of a risk and it makes complete sense that these events are getting canceled it's safer for everybody especially events with the tech community the demographic that is most

Likely to just be okay with watching a stream online I mean I'm one person that never goes to these events I mean I'm media I'm press I'm invited to them all the time but I never go because well one I hate traveling but two well hi I could just watch the stream online and then walk into my studio in my house and make the same video probably a better video than I would make if I went to the event and also I won't get the beer flu all right next up since we're already talking about Google let's talk about a feature that Google has implemented in software that does the

Same thing that Apple was able to do with hardware one of my favorite features ever on iPhones was 3d touch and of course they got rid of that then being able to build a pressure-sensitive display through hardware and integrates an amazing software feature to work together seamlessly I loved that it created extra fun function fun too now that shut up words are hard but if we're being honest the feature wasn't intuitive enough it wasn't likely that you were just gonna stumble upon it somebody had to tell you that it was there for you to be able to use it and

Not enough people used it at the right justification for Apple to keep putting the hardware in the devices they're able to save more money manufacturing each device if they don't add the hardware that is used for 3d touch but along with that the resources that goes into just engineering that day would you spend too much money for a feature that not enough people were using I guess and even so with the newer versions of iOS and the newer iPhones not having the physical hardware needed for 3d touch iOS software wise is able to just replicate the same feature with a long press but

Google has taken this a step further with software so they've replicated 3d touch and it's kind of clever how they did it so they announced it for the latest feature drop for pixel devices and the drop itself optimizes a bunch of stuff fixes bugs but also adds this feature that replicates and clones 3d touch so in this case it's obviously not called 3d touch it's called firm press or firmly press here's a video demo of it in action so you can see an example of just a regular long press and then a firm press the software is figuring out which is which and that's kind of cool

Now if I had to guess I would assume that the software is determining which is a firm press and which is a regular press based on how much of your fat thumb is hitting the screen so you press on the phone regularly right you got so much of your thumb hitting the screen but if you were to press it harder more of the surface of your thumb would like spread across that display because you're pressing harder and the fat thumb is getting B's bigger on the screen so Google's software they're machine learning API is like fathom equal babe

Press harder that is fascinating I mean to me this is a much better implementation of a feature like this I get it on the iPhone you can sort of get the same thing now at the long press but the difference like being able to firmly press on the display to activate the feature quicker than a long press man I love 3d touch Apple please you're not you don't have any shame we know this you'll copy from other people Android mainly do it do it again do with this all right real quickly you've probably already seen this speaking of Apple let's talk about their

Little uh dilemma so if you remember like a couple years ago I think we found out that yes in fact Apple was slowing down older iPhones Apple's exploration of course was that it was to conserve battery life right as your phone got older if they throttled the processor and the phone didn't if the work is hard then you could conserve your battery for a long time this was like a conspiracy theory everyone there like Apple slowing down older iPhones to make us want to buy new ones and then everyone the Apple Chiefs of the world were like no that's there's no happening but guess

What if we hop on in and now the US government after investigating all of this stuff has reached a settlement with Apple five hundred million dollars they admitted it to they're gonna pay it and this also includes payouts small payouts for iPhone owners here in the US and when I say small payouts I mean $25 for if you have an iPhone 6 or 7 and it got slowed down they also agreed to pay named it class members around 1500 or $3500 and then just about 90 million dollars will go towards the attorneys so when it's all said and done right around 25 bucks for iPhone 6 and 7 owners

Us pretty good I'm not not not as good it's like free humps or anything but it's almost there all right last up for the day Google pixel five if you remember a few weeks ago I showed you the first render of an actual Google pixel 5 prototype so currently there are three prototypes that Google is considering I showed you the back of one originally this one this one right here you probably saw it floating around online everywhere by now now I never said regardless of what you read on some website somewhere I never said this was the final design I said

This is one of three I'm 99.9% sure certain that what you're looking at right here is an actual legitimate prototype I then went a step further and showed you additional renders on my Twitter here is the tweet and in this for the first time I showed you not only the back of the device but also the front showing that the front still has that top bezel but it's just a smaller school no notnot like circle punch at least for this prototype because they still want project soli to work in this device you know the motion sensor stuff in the top bezel so they still going to

Have that issues a little smaller well now we have supposedly a leak of the actual physical prototype so this showed up on slash leaks and I got some stuff to say on the left in this image is a pixel for on the right is supposedly that pixel 5 prototype like the real deal there it is I was just given CAD files from a source within Google that I then had to go ahead and make these renders from but this right here not a render supposedly is the real thing the real physical device and as you can see that top bezel is smaller in fact it pretty much matches the CAD files that I

Got in the renders that I put out that that bezel right there at the top identical to what I put out but as much as I want my prototype that I showed you to be confirmed so you know I wasn't lying not convinced by this and you probably knew that so there's a bunch of reasons that this phone could be pixelated and blurred out could be to hide details to make sure the source is protected and no one gets in trouble none of the employees at Google get in trouble maybe this just made its way out there to show what the front is gonna look like

Confirmed that bezel and show that project soli is still implemented but of course that other option is that this isn't real at all with this image there's no confirmed source with this it's just it just exists now it could be a completely different phone and they had to blur it out so you didn't see which phone it was or it could just be a bad Photoshop that was so bad that they had to mask it and disguise it as bad but then again there's always that other option that it is real you guys let me know in the comments below what do you think real fake or man you in between

You don't know and that is it that is a show hopefully you like to you learn something if you did hit the lack of button if you hate my stupid face dislike button works too if you're new here subscribe and I'll see you guys tomorrow you
