Galaxy S8 vs LG G6: Flagship showdown

by birtanpublished on September 20, 2020

Hey what's good guys it's a cure with Android police taking a look at two of 27 teams biggest flagship phones the LG G six and new Samsung Galaxy S 8 which one is better and which one should you get to kick things off the G 6 is the cheaper of the two starting at around

650 bucks compared to the s8 at around $100 more both the G 6 and the s 8 have taken on these new taller displays with curved corners that travel up the body of the phone of course the s8 takes things a

Bit further with the curved edges which makes its case for being the best-looking screen on the bass looking phone on the market the G 6 is no slouch though while it is slightly thicker it sports a very attractive solid feeling

Glass and metal build with the very impressive 5.7 inch LCD display both phones also sport wireless charging ip68 water and dust resistance expandable storage four gigs of ram they both support HDR content they have USB type-c

And yes they both have headphone jacks so both phones do have these glass and metal builds and the s8 is especially easy to scratch and of course it only takes a matter of seconds for each one to be loaded with fingerprints leaving

The phone's not looking too great now I got around this by putting ad brand skin on both of my phones you can go ahead and check out the ones I have here in the description so while these phones do have a few things in common they are

Indeed quite different based on the two price points what does each phone give you the SI is going to get you the slightly taller more color rich and vibrant display the newer more efficient snapdragon 835 processor double the

Storage and of course it also comes in a larger more expensive 6.2 inch plus sized model the g6 get you a slightly larger battery compared to the regular si you also get dual 13 megapixel cameras which have been proven to be a

Force to be reckoned with in terms of performance they handle daily tasks quite easily as expected they both run Android 7.0 along with their respective skins LG UX and Samsung experience they've both been lightened to thank

Goodness and her a lot less obtrusive than before plus there's still skins and you'll have to deal with them although the g6 has the older Snapdragon 820 1 processor it holds its own while the s8 loads applications quite a bit faster

I'd be lying if I told you using the s8 has been a completely lag-free experience from the slightly choppy Abdur animation to sometimes only opening Twitter after a couple of seconds the s8 is not perhaps

But ER the g6 on the other hand is lag appears to be non-existent not saying that the s8 is a lag freak or anything but in terms of smoothness the g6 has the SH beat but in terms of raw performance the s8 is the clear winner

Now with battery life again the s8 has the g6 B although the g6 has the bigger battery compared to the regular s8 the g6 is battery life was pretty disappointing where I was only pulling in about four and a half hours of screen

On time with consistently heavy usage part of this could be attributed to LG's decision to stick with a less efficient Snapdragon 820 one chip but overall battery life isn't horrible you can make it through the day just not as easily as

You can with the s8 especially the s8 plus where I along with a lot of other users are getting over seven hours of screen on time as far as the cameras go you could make an argument for either one being the better of the two they

Both take clean sharp colorful and high-quality shots the g6 does have the upper hand in terms of versatility though with its dual 13 megapixel lens setup which gives you 2 X optical zoom and these really awesome wide-angle

Shots that you can't get on the s8 in terms of overall quality the s8 does come out on top with its single 12 megapixel shooter especially when talking about low-light performance and click autofocus and you've also got that

8 megapixel selfie cam compared to the G sixes which only stands at 5 megapixels each come with a nice set of features to keep you entertained and on top of that they both shoot very nice-looking 4k video as for which one's better it

Really comes down to what you need out of a camera on your smartphone image quality and performance goes to the s8 while versatility and features go to the g6 if you're looking for a feature packed phone the s8 is definitely the

Way to go the s8 will give you more biometric security options allowing you to unlock your phone with your face your eyes and of course your finger prints the g6 definitely gives you the ability to unlock your phone with your

Fingerprint and it has a much better placement in this more traditional area compared to the s8 which happens to be right next to the camera the SE provides other things like Samsung connect a better established theme store you've

Got things like Samsung pay secure folder and new to the scene you've got Bixby & DEC's Bixby is Samsung's new virtual assistant which looks to take on Google assistant and Siri with its Google now style cards and its products

And text recognition via Bixby vision decks is this 150 Dok that you connect to a monitor you slap your f Tate into it connect a keyboard and mouse and you've got a desktop life experience now it's not

Like the g6 lacks features or anything like that you do get a theme store some pretty neat unlock animations a solid version of always-on display but in comparison to the s8 well there is no comparison now I think we all know

Pound for pound the s8 is the winner most people would choose it anyway right it is a galaxy after all it's got a jaw-dropping design a great camera great performance and a little bit of everything for everyone in terms of

Features but does it just completely stop the g6 absolutely not the g6 is a fantastic device it's miles better than the g5 and it boasts an all-around super solid experience this is a phone that I myself really enjoy using as well in

Fact the g6 is probably a better value than the s8 with it being less expensive especially when compared to the s8 plus and the fact that you get things like that taller display with curved corners wireless charging water resistance and

Expandable storage all things that can be found on the s8 you also get that wide-angle camera lens that shouldn't be overlooked so with that being said while I do think the s8 is the better phone and I would recommend it over the g6 any

Day it may not be better for you and your liking the g6 is also a phone I would recommend because it really is that good you can't go wrong with either phone to be honest so what do you guys think of the g6 and the s8 which one do

You think is better if you're in the market for a new phone and you're choosing between these two let us know which ones you decide on picking up but anyway that does it for me I hope you guys enjoyed the video if you did feel
