Fossil Hybrid HR Complete Walkthrough: Best of Both Worlds

by birtanpublished on September 10, 2020

Fossil just launched the new fossil hybrid HR a SmartWatch that uses ink with a traditional watch face on top of it and since they sent me one for review I figured I'd try to a complete walk the run it for you guys now if you aren't familiar complete

Walked on the channels where I tried to go through every single feature I possibly can on new device so that you guys are better prepared should you be in the mark to actually go buy one with that said there's a lot to go through so

Let's get started with the styling the watch comes in only one size 42 millimeters but it comes in three case colors black gold and silver each of these are made out of stainless steel and while all of the colors have a 24

Millimeter display area and are 11 millimeters thick the ones dubbed Charter HR accept an 18 millimeter watch band which you can find on places like Amazon to swap out the ones that they come with

While the collider HR ones accept a 20 millimeter band the 42 millimeter case sizes just a tad smaller than the 44 millimeter size of fossils last pretty well-received Smart Watch the fossil Gen 5 which you can check out my video on

That below if you're curious and just like the Gen 5 it still feels like a good middle of the road signs that I probably suit the majority of people with a majority of wrist sizes I imagine now I said this before but I've always

Been a fan of fossil smartwatches and their subsidiary companies like Skagen because of the simplistic and minimalistic style they're slim clean looking and lightweight and I'm a big fan of that Gen 5 watch I mentioned this

Watch carries that same design language which I like but I'll be it with a more of a traditional watch vibe of course the fossil hybrid HR is also swim proof up to three ATMs or three times the normal atmospheric pressure that is

Slightly less than the five ATM that we're used to seeing another smartwatches lately but still plenty enough for you to do laps and go for a swim if you ask me for sensors the watch has a built-in heart rate monitor hence

The HR and the name and all the other standard hardware to let you track steps and even sleep which I appreciate there is no GPS though or barometer as far as I can tell so you'll have to use your phone for that if you need to track

Runs with elevation etc for battery one of the benefits of it being a hybrid SmartWatch and not a more full-fledged one is that the battery lasts a lot longer according to fossil you should get about

Two weeks of use on a single charge and the charger can charge it to full in about 60 minutes now I started using my about half battery on the first of November and today on the fifth at the moment it's at about 15

Percent checking with my buddy mr. mobile Michael Fisher who has also been using the watch he says he's losing about 10% a day so between the two of us and he's probably safe to say that ten days is about what you're looking at

Realistically which of course is still way better than a traditional Smart Watch moving around it though we do have three buttons on the side that can be used to navigate the e-ink screen and can also be customized to launch

Different functions when pressed the middle one by the way it does look kind of like a dial but it doesn't turn just so you know while we're on the topic actually let's dive into the software and how using this watch actually works

So firstly the eing screen under the watch hands show for customizable sections for info that you can always see the watch also features a function that you can double tap it in order to get actual LEDs to come from the sides

And light up the display if you're in a dimly lit area using a new fossil SmartWatch app you can go to the customization tab and tap on the watch face to choose between the following for each of the four sections blank which is

Pretty self-explanatory but it lets you leave one or multiple of these sections empty second time zone lets you select a city and display the city's time zone as opposed to the main watch hands that automatically change the time based on

The time of your phone it seems chance of rain will give you the percentage chance that it'll rain in your current location active minutes tells you how long you've had your heart rate high enough during the day for the software

To consider you actively working out current temperature this gives you the current temperature in either Celsius or Fahrenheit for your current location heart rate which displays your last recorded heart rate which it by the way

Checks regularly day-date shows the current date and the day of the week and steps which is your current number of steps for the day which of course resets at midnight in the app you can also customize those three side buttons as I

Mentioned and choose from the following also the watch hands actually moved to lie at 3:00 and 9:00 to let you see what is happening on the screen whenever you do any of these options or get a notification first is workout mode now

If you set this when you press this button you'll be able to choose from run treadmill elliptical weights or general workout and it'll begin tracking that workout the next option we have is wellness dashboard which is a shortcut

To get to your health stats for the day like steps active minutes and calories burned you can also choose to manually check your heart rate in here as well stopwatch which brings up a stopwatch so you can use to track time with timer

Brings up a countdown timer that you can set whether takes you to a weather dashboard to see more in-depth weather information than just the temperature and allows you to set up to two locations for this music controls

Shows controls for whatever music player you are currently using and it lets you pause play and skip forward and backward in your playlist as well as control the volume and lastly we have past notifications which shows you all of

Your previously seen notifications so you can recheck them or just clear them all you also swipe on these screens to create different profiles that can each have their own watch face widgets and custom functions for those three buttons

Now speaking of vacations the watch can receive them from your phone over Bluetooth as you'd expect from a SmartWatch the notifications come in and the hands move out of the way as I mentioned and then you can use the top

And bottom buttons to navigate up and down through the list tap the middle button to expand the notification to read it further etc now since there is no touchscreen or any real input methods of any kind other than those buttons

You'd only really read notifications and you cannot reply from the watch like you could with most full-fledged smartwatches also near you can go all the way down to the bottom of the list to clear them all or all the way to the

Top to go back to the home screen you can also tap and hold the middle button as a shortcut to get to the home screen from any of the screens that you're on as well there you go that's kind of the entire gist of the fossil hybrid HR and

The complete walkthrough on it you can check out the link below for more info on the watch let me don't you guys think of this watch of this video in the comments below I always love hearing from you guys and if you like this video

Please thumbs up it or share its greatly appreciate it also check out the rest of channel feel like what you see there please subscribe and ding the bell make sure to subscribe so you get notified when I do new videos as always though

Regardless thanks for watching
