Dell Inspiron 13 Black Edition 2-in-1 (7390) Review

This is Lisa from mobile tech review and this is going to be a happy video why I like this product this is the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series two and one now this is the black edition so 7000 series and the Inspiron line is always the highest in 3000 5000 7000 the black edition is kind of the maxed out one well obviously with the abyss black finish it's pretty cool it has a pin that has more than that look at it now before we talk about anything else it might be silly but this is my favorite feature take a look at this it's a place to house your pen and it's magnetic to stop it from rattling around allow you

To have a full-size pen instead of one of those toothpick kind of ones it lives on a little silo or a garage and you won't lose it right awesome stuff I hope everybody does is please start copying this it's neat anyway the Dell Inspiron 13 Black Edition two and one so it's also available in the 15-inch obviously we have the 13 inch here so this is kind of like it takes the Dell Inspiron 7000 series which starts at about 849 and that's a nice buy to if you don't want to go quite as premium as this but this one just gives you all the premium stuff

Bundled together in one package with the matte black finish which despite the fact that is matte like doesn't get too absolutely disgusting and fingerprints but obviously it is going to show them more than silver so if you're one of those CD types keep that in mind it says Intel eighth generation whiskey like quad core 15 watt ultrabook CPUs and Intel UHD 620 graphics if you go with the 15 inch NVIDIA MX 250 graphics is available as an option as well but not in the 13-inch so since this is the upscale configuration in the Black Edition that is a core i7 CPU 85 65 you

You've got 16 gigs of low power in ddr3 ram 21 33 megahertz and a 256 gig emma dot 2 nvme SSD for 1150 if you go up to $1200 you can get with a 512 gig Intel octane drive the Black Edition comes with a 4k uhd glossy touchscreen with active pen support as standard that is an intrigue based pen it's interesting because Dell used to use wakame yes and it's pretty darn good it has nice pressure curves decent palm rejection same technology that Microsoft Surface uses but not quite so good when it comes to diagonal lines which are pretty jittery here like most laptops it

Keeps getting lighter and it keeps getting thinner and is quite life especially for a two and one they do tend to weigh a bit more and quite thin you can see the metrics on screen it has a blacked out keyboard but white contrasting letters and it is backlit and very comfy nice key travel on this good tactile feel great for school I mean for those of you still have to type a lot and a Microsoft precision trackpad they unmarked black button in the corner is the power button and it doubles as the fingerprint scanner and it has a more clicky tactile feel and is harder

To press down which is a good thing so you're reaching for that delete key you don't want to keep accidentally turning off your laptop it's pretty hard to accidentally de press this button fully with that intending to do even though it is pretty thin and light and this is something that compared to the XPS 13 93 80 you know with its USB C slash Thunderbolt 3 point so she can drive you look crazy this one still has some legacy ports on you have hdmi 2.0 you have a USB a port you have a USB C port on board as well and of course headphone jack micro SD card slot so it's ready to

Hit the road running without dongle he'll follow you everywhere you go so that USB C port is Gen 1 it does support power delivery and DisplayPort out at least no Thunderbolt 3 here you do have to move up to the XPS line if you want to get that the casing is cast aluminum it's not quite the same as that unibody XPS 13 with its more premium look but hey this one looks pretty darn premium I don't think anybody's going to look at this and say oh man I had some slump and get Inspiron black edition well done there the 4k display on this is very pleasing it has a usual nearly

Complete srgb coverage 99% you get the idea the metrics are on screen right now no complaints here it's quite nice it gets reasonably bright it's not shockingly bright but in this price range it's perfectly good enough even for bright room use so how about battery life something must be wrong here well it's not pay given the fact that you've got a core i7 and a 4k display here and there's a 52 watt hour battery which is the beefier side of average for a 13-inch Ultrabook then it comes with a 65 watt fast charger now adele claims 10 or 11 hours of runtime and that's always

A you know a best-case kind of scenario but i found that i can get seven seven and a half hours with 115 it's a brightness doing productivity a little streaming video Wi-Fi on and active so that's pretty acceptable given the configuration okay to get inside you unscrew the phillips head screws the phillips head 0 size small ones the screws in the back over here are captive screws but not the rest go figure why they do that now our screws words screwed in exceptionally tight so you might have to use a high quality screwdriver to get those screws out

Without stripping so we take off set can do a nice metal bottom there it is and here's your internals so they redesigned the cooling so that it was zooss out the back side away from you it's pretty effective heat and noise are well controlled with this core temperatures are acceptable it doesn't get burning hot to the touch despite the fact it is thin and it is metal yeah that and see this brilliant thing here even if the cover is on you can see your pin when the laptop is closed so you don't have to open up again just to make sure that you actually put the pin inside the tech

And you're taking it with you nice so here's our fan here's our heatsink over our cpu right there here is our m2 nvme SSD so that is upgradeable standard m2 slot good then ram is soldered on board you do get 16 gigs of ram so that should make most people happy for now and for a couple years from now as well and where is our Intel 95 60 AC Wi-Fi card well hiding under this piece of mylar tape right here so that too is socketed should you wish to change it out later though it's a good card so I don't know why you would and down here is our 52 watt hour battery taking up much of the

Internals as is typical with ultrabooks these days and our stereo speakers are down firing towards the sides right over here good sound on this pretty nice indeed waves max audio software onboard and yeah it's it's pleasant enough if you're gonna watch a movie or something I really like what Dillon HP have been doing lately with their not absolute premium line laptops giving you pretty much a lot of what you liked about premium line laptops metal chassis good performance for CPUs nice displays and all that stuff without going like two fifteen hundred or two

Thousand dollars this is exactly that the build quality is really nice on it I like the pen performance a lot of this I adore the pen storage Wow can everybody start doing this now good display options on this good performance on the usual kind of stuff you would expect from a 13-inch ultra book that is pricey but not psycho pricey I may sit for mobile tech review be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more cool tech videos and thumbs up if you like this vid
