Bose Sleepbuds: Do They Work?

by birtanpublished on August 28, 2020

I have been traveling a ton lately and just in the span of one week I've gone from Orlando to New York City to LA and now I'm in London and quality sleep is something that's kind of hard to get when you're bouncing from hotel to hotel you never know if there's gonna be a

Quiet one or a noisy neighbor or tons of ambient noise outside especially in New York so what I've done is I teamed up with Bose to try out their new sleep buds for a week and share my experience with you and what I'm gonna do is I'm

Gonna show you all the things that it can do and what it can't do and then I'm gonna go over some of the features to see if this is a good fit for you so let's go ahead and get started I want to address this right away because I think

This is the biggest question that most people have is that these are the both sleep buds and they are named appropriately because they're only intended for sleep and while they are wireless earbuds that connect by

Bluetooth you can not strain music on these these are only made for sleep improvement the first thing I want to talk about is this carrying case that they give you I absolutely love it I love the design of it and I love the

Slide mechanism as well you're gonna find yourself playing with this it's really really satisfying and I love the compact form factor of this and this does have a battery built inside so you can't charge your sleep buds multiple

Times and even though that the sleep buzz themselves have built in battery it's nice to have this compact carrying case that you can put into and this fits perfectly in a bag a pocket or a purse so this is extremely mobile which is

Great because I think that's what this is intended for you can take this anywhere with you it charges easily by micro USB so a lot of you already have this charger anyway but it does come with the charging brake and micro USB

Cord if you need one the second thing I want to talk about are the sleep buds themselves I'm a person that really doesn't like to sleep with anything in their ears I've tried to sleep with headphones before I would wake up with

Sore ears and sore ear canal and I really didn't like that feeling so I was really concerned but if you're concerned about comfort then don't be because these are extremely small they fit directly into the ear canal and even

When I was sleeping on that side on a pillow I couldn't even feel them in my ears they're really lightweight so when it comes to comfort I give these in a plus all of this material is soft and rubberised so I was able to sleep all

Night with them without feeling any type of discomfort so to get started it's really easy all you need to do is download the both sleep app and connect them by bluetooth it gives you step-by-step directions and then once

You connect them one time by bluetooth you won't have to reconnect them again after you take the sleep bus out of the case then it connects right away and then it'll show you the battery percentage on the app and then if you

Look at the bottom of the case there's five LED indicator lights and now we'll show you how much battery you have remaining on your case all of the settings and sounds are inside the Bose sleep app so the first thing that I did

Was I went through all the sounds first to see which sound that I liked best because they will be playing through here the entire night I do like cascade I like swell and a few others so there's some good ambient

Sound here so what I want to do is I want to describe what it's like to use the Bose sleep buds when they go inside of your ear and they're the proper fit they should block out about 50 percent of ambient noise you get passive noise

Cancelling and a lot of people might be upset there's not active noise canceling but active noise canceling actually puts pressure in my ears so maybe that wouldn't be as comfortable so actually don't mind this and it's a very subtle

Background noise when you put them on you don't get this like blast of that ambient noise it's very subtle in the background there is a volume slider so you can make it as loud as you want but even on the highest volume it's not

Really that loud so I think that's great but if you do have kids and you do want to hear the ambient sound you can actually turn down the volume slider or here's a tip you can just take one of them out and only use one sleep bud so

Your being able to hear everything that's going on here and you're still getting that awesome ambient noise to help you go to sleep so my first night in London I actually slept 10 hours because I was so sleep-deprived and when

I woke up in the morning I didn't feel any type of fatigue on my ears which I was very surprised about and when it comes to battery life it took about 70% battery when it was playing for 10 hours straight and then the next night I slept

About six hours and it took about 40% battery life so that gives you an idea of what kind of battery drain that these sleep buds have another really nice touch is that you can set an alarm for the sleep buds so you don't have to wake

Up to a harsh alarm sound it's a very subtle alarm that wakes you up slowly so I felt like that was a better way to wake up in the morning so for the last three or four days now I've had that wake me up and

That's pleasant for your wake up it's not a jarring wake up which I like so didn't actually help me get better sleep and I would like to say yes it definitely had a contribution because the ritual of sleeping for me definitely

Changed when I had these in my ear and that ambient noise was going it helped me calm immediately what I did was ended up putting my phone down I just closed my eyes and I was out within five minutes answering the question if these

Are for you is a harder one because it depends on what you do before you go to sleep so if you already have something in place that helps you sleep and it's working then you may not need these but if you're someone who needs something

Compact and small to take with you anywhere and not take a big sound machine or you don't want to wear headphones and they're uncomfortable to go to sleep and you want a sleeping aid that could help you then I would

Definitely look into these because I absolutely love the design of this case and the sleep was themselves I love the magnetic hold on these I just love how compact they are and I hope that Bose continues this design and form

Factor into other headphones or wireless earbuds because I'll be the first in line to buy one of them if it's this good there are a few software features that I'd like to see come to the most sleep app like sleep tracking it'd be

Nice if you can detect how long they've been out of the case and then when you put him back in the software would ask you would you like to use this time for sleep tracking that would be cool and also a friend is here with me on the

Trip and he was telling me how cool these would be for meditation so he was impressed with the form factor so I would love to see some expanded sounds some more sounds and maybe some different off uses for the sleep buds so

That would be cool as well so let me know what you think of the Bose sleep buds and if you're interested in picking them up I'll leave a link down below for you they're available right now at Best Buy and if you already own some of these

Let me know what your experience is like if they're similar to mine or completely different and leave a comment down below for you if you have any questions I will do my best to answer them I will see you guys in the next video I need to get

Some sleep there's an event in the morning and I will see you in the next one goodnight
