ASUS ZenFone 7 – EVERYTHING New & Unboxing!
good people i'm dmitry and the zenfone 7 is finally here it's an exciting smartphone for 2020 because i was talking to ibra and he said this is basically like the rog gaming phone 3 but in this zen phone body that is exciting from a performance standpoint and they basically upgraded literally everything on this versus the zenfone 6 which by the way i still use on a daily basis this is my backup smartphone because of that notchless display a really cool flip up camera but most importantly it's a 5 000 milliamp hour
Battery phone which means it's a two-day guarantee so in this video let's talk about everything that is new on the zenfone 7 and i'll be putting my sim card in it using it in the long-term environment and of course you're gonna have to wait for my long-term verdict the new fantax p300a enclosure is a great value airflow focused frame thanks to the all new mesh front panel that is a single piece of metal for highest mesh area and durability the inside is nice and simple plus an
Exhaust fan is included check out the p300a down below alright so the cameras are obviously important but i'll talk about all the changes they've done around the camera module a bit later the most important physical difference is the size it's slightly bigger it's 6.67 inches versus 6.4 inches on the zenfone 6 which means it's a heavier device it's thicker this is not a one-hand operation device the zenfone 6 was kind of in that space because it was very thin
And it gave you the perception of holding something slightly slimmer and smaller but this thing like this is a beefy boy we still have a type c port at the bottom but unfortunately no headphone jack which is so unfortunate but based on their market research majority of people are gravitating towards wireless audio so it is what it is the other significant physical change is the power button it is now capacitive so it acts as your fingerprint scanner which is incredibly fast but i find it
To be a little bit unnatural because on the zenfone 6 i'm so used to going in the back and finding that fingerprint sensor but with the power button here it's kind of depressed and i'm just i'm really not used to it just yet you can customize what it does with a double tap or a long press but overall i don't really like the power button the volume rockers are beautifully tactile however so at least that's a positive the display 6.67 inches 90 hertz full hd plus resolution so
Obviously the 90 hertz refresh rate is a benefit it has auto functionality where it can switch between 60 hertz and 9 hertz depending on what you're doing it is an amoled panel that is slightly brighter versus the zenfone 6 and because of the whole flip camera design module there's no notch there's no hull cat out it's just a beautiful beautiful display i wish the edges of the screen were slightly more square because the rounding on here seems a little bit inconsistent
Versus what we have on the actual frame it comes in two colors pastel white or black not a fan of the pastel white even toe does have this very cool pink illumination depending on where which angle light hits it mainly because i prefer black edges on the smartphone and you can see that pastel white kind of wrap around and you can notice that on the frame making it appear slightly larger in your hand versus a slimmer black perception the back here is glass and unfortunately just like
With the zenfone 6 this phone is incredibly slippery plus it's so heavy and large i wish that the frame would have a little bit more grip moving on with the specifications there'll be two skus zenfone 7 and zenfone 7 pro everything about them will be identical except for ois on the cameras only on the pro model and snapdragon 865 plus 5g on the pro model again while having only just a regular snapdragon 865 on the zenfone 7. storage will be up to 256 gigabytes ram up to 8
Gigabytes we'll have a triple tray system so dual nano sims and a single micro sd slot that is awesome and both phones will have the 5 000 milliamp hour battery which is great for a power user especially with that 90 hertz display that will come in handy alright so specs out of the way i was hoping for more cool wallpapers because there were so many awesome ones on the zenfone 6 while here we just get the standard kind of like the seven wallpaper
And nothing more i will talk about my software experience and the full review but just like with the zenfone 6 asus really tries to deliver something that is close to stock android as possible and yeah it shows here too and leave the best for last the camera module they've upgraded everything on this thing including the motor and the camera sensors so on the zenfone 7 we still have an ultra wide we have our regular and we have a telephoto 3x optical zoom the main sensor is 64 megapixels which
Is insane the 48 megapixel that we saw on the zenfone 6 was incredibly sharp given the right conditions and at 64 megapixels on a phone that's kind of crazy it also has optical stabilization which is necessary for low light photography and something that will give you a clearer and more detailed image versus when you don't have ois the ultra white camera is 12 megapixels and from my experience it is fantastic with real-time distortion correction
So if you are taking selfies with large groups of people you know people on the edges aren't gonna be like totally squished into the image and the last lens is a telephoto so 3x optical zoom with ois enabled as well giving you a really good foundation for smartphone photography because of that flip mechanism it's the same sensor for selfies as you would for regular photos which is great as for video recording we have 8k at 30 fps not sure why anyone would need
That on a smartphone but i'm really excited for 4k 120 which this thing does so on paper this thing is an absolute beast and with many software optimizations built in that i'll go over in my full review aside from the camera sensor updates the motor is better in every way durability has doubled so we have 200 000 flips versus 100 000 on the zenfone 6 so that means you can do this thing selfie mode 100 times a day for five years so durability should not be a concern
They've refined the step adjustment giving you smoother motion and uh just more control when you are in manual flip mode it's also really fast so not really an issue of like trying to wait for it to load now we also have directional microphones which is important if you're recording between ultra wide the main camera and telephoto it does change accordingly and based on the samples i've taken so far the camera is better versus the zenfone 6 but you'll have to
Wait uh for my full review to see any samples that's not my call though as for the price point check out the pin comment down below to see how it compares with the zenfone 6 but yeah the zenfone 7 and the zenfone 7 pro absolute killers for 2020. it's still a bit too large for me but i guess it's one of those things you have to get used to especially when i'm coming from an iphone 10s all right it's time to switch out my sim card
And use this thing on a daily it's good to be back on android all right guys let me know what you think of the zenfone 7 comments subscribe for more check out this other relevant content i'll talk to you very soon
